Enterprise IT systems have to be considered within the context in which they are employed. This context does not only consist of neighboring systems and their respective interfaces but also of the IT-supported business processes and strategies as well as the underlying IT infrastructure. Enterprise architecture explicitly relates all these aspects in order to support the alignment of business and IT and to enable substantiated planning and transformation.
In this respect, enterprise architecture management can be an important tool facilitating digital transformation, big data projects and the like. The HAWAI group is involved in several enterprise architecture projects and regularly offers student courses.
